Dr. Maysoon Raouf


Dr. Raouf gives attentive and personalized care for every patient, she is thorough and patient, listens to your needs, and takes her time discussing exam results and answering all your questions.

Dr. Raouf graduated as a Medical doctor from the School of Medicine, Baghdad University, trained in Ophthalmology and Optometry in UK, qualified as an Ophthalmologist in London and Glasgow – UK 1983, worked as Registrar in Ophthalmology in England- Merseyside till 1984. She worked as an Ophthalmologist in Iraq and Abu Dhabi, UAE before coming with her family to Canada.

She finished the IOBP (International Optometry Bridging Program) at the University of Waterloo 2009 and was certified by the College of Optometrists of Ontario in 2010, and became a member of Ontario association of Optometrists, the Canadian association of Optometrists. She is an active member of Ottawa society of Optometrists.

Dr. Raouf is passionate about eye care and disease prevention, she brings her long experience together with continuous updating and education in eye health care, including Advanced scope certification, Myopia Management certification , she is a Licensed Therapeutic Optometrist. She would Guide you through your needs to achieve your best vision.

She enjoys travelling to explore Canada, US and other continents, loves travelling to Europe and the Far East, is an avid reader and likes doing hand crafts in her free time.


Dr. Samantha Kayser


Samantha has been with Elmvale Optometry since 2024.

Dr. Samantha Kayser is an Ottawa native who went to Canterbury High School down the street from Elmvale Optometry. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Louisville, in Kentucky, USA, and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

There she graduated with Honors and Professional Distinction. After graduating, she completed a residency emphasizing care in Geriatrics and Low Vision, and earned her Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry.

She then spent the first years of her career providing optometric care in rural Virginia. She is happy to bring her family home to the Ottawa Valley.

Amanda Denis

CCOA( Canadian certified Optometric Assistant)

Amanda has been with Elmvale Optometry since 2018.

With a background in medical office administration, Amanda has been focusing in the optical field for the past 4 years. Amanda enjoys meeting and talking with people from all walks of life and all different ages; whether it be making visual field tests a little more tolerable for our senior patients, helping a new glasses wearer select the best lenses and options for their needs, assisting clients in selecting the best frame to suit their personality, or helping our little patients get through pretesting and trying on their new frames, she is dedicated to ensuring that the experience at Elmvale is more than just another doctors visit, and everyone leaves with a smile.

In her free time she enjoys spending time outside soaking up the sun with her family, and debating the finer points of Batman with her sons.


Jennifer Craven

CCOA( Canadian certified Optometric Assistant)

Jennifer has been with Elmvale Optometry since 2018

Jennifer has been working in optometry for the past four years and recently completed the Canadian Association of Optometrists’ optometric assistant program. Prior to entering optometry, she completed a degree in English and spent several years teaching English as a second language abroad. Her French is a work in progress.

Here at Elmvale she helps our patients to book appointments keeping all information up to date and providing reminder calls for upcoming appointments. She prepares patients for their visit with Dr. Raouf; verifying coverage, taking payments and completing pretest procedures. She can also be found completing visual field testing and retinal imaging. She is also an excellent Frame Stylist: making sure your glasses are custom measured to suit your needs


Melisa Ramic

Optometric Assistant

Melisa has been with Elmvale Optometry since 2020

Although she initially trained as a dental hygienist she entered optometry at the beginning of 2020 and her interest in this field is always growing. She is very eager to learn all about this profession, mastering the use of the state of the art equipment perfectly. She enjoys talking and listening to patients charting their complaints, medical history and performing preliminary tests, including retinal imaging; Melisa has been an excellent addition to the team.

When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors.
